NewsWatch, a 30-Minutes Television Show
NewsWatch is a television show with interest in entertainment, consumer, and technology. It features celebrity interviews, breaking medical and government news, mobile app reviews, consumer news, and public service announcements. Newswatch also features national non-profit awareness campaigns, on-location satellite media tour interviews, and video news releases. NewsWatch broadcasts on Ion Television affiliates, AMC Network during morning news hours, and independently syndicated local stations. Its headquarters is located in Washington DC, but it runs offices in New York City, Denver, and Fairfax. NewsWatch operates under Bridge Communications, which is a video production and communication firm.
Newswatch began broadcasting as a monthly program focusing on financial issues in March 1990. Later on, NewsWatch expanded its scope to become a TV news magazine covering a broad variety of topics. Today, it operates as a consumer and entertainment focused television show that features paid and editorial segments. Here, companies can promote their brands after an editorial approval by the NewWatch editors. Its hosts Michelle Ison, Susan Bridges, and Andrew Tropeano usually introduce individual stories and consumer-oriented reviews. Segments within the program are self-contained reports and run one-to-two minutes in length. Besides, the hosts conduct interviews with marketers throughout the U.S. Their shows cover different topics and often include celebrities who have interest in the issue being discussed.
NewsWatch started to express its interest in technology market in April 2011. Since then, it has worked with many Fortune 500 companies including Audi, Siemens, and Sony. NewsWatch began to feature AppWatch, a segment focused on reviewing upcoming mobile apps in May 2012. Tropeano hosts AppWatch, a program that runs weekly. Recent reviews of AppWatch include MoWeather, Baby’s Brilliant, RCN Mobile App, and AZ Pest Control. Besides the nationally syndicated show, NewsWatch reaches its target audience through social media channels such as Twitter, Google+, Vimeo Channel, and Facebook. As of July 2017, NewsWatch’s Youtube channel had over 4,033,488 views. Renowned celebrities such as Tom Skerritt, Paul Sorvino, Jennifer Lawrence, Carrie Underwood, and Chris Pratt have featured in the show between 2010 and 2017.
